BQ24193: bq24193

Part Number: BQ24193
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3831, TPS3840, TPS3890, TLV803E

Hi,

We are working on BQ24193 BMS IC.we need a battery monitoring circuit for bq24193 for battery protection.we need to cutoff the batfet when battery voltage reaches 3.5 V while discharging .any help for designing battery monitoring circuit design.

Thanks and regards

Prasad

  • Prasad,

I am moving this thread to the voltage supervisor IC group. I am also including the link to your original post here for their reference.

    Thanks,

  • Prasad,

For battery monitoring, we recommend a nano Iq device. We have 3 fixed voltage nano-Iq voltage monitoring devices. The low cost option is TLV803E. The smallest size option is TPS3831. And if programmable delay is needed we recommend TPS3840. All of these devices have fixed voltage thresholds with the closest voltage threshold to 3.5V is 3V. If 3V will not work for your application, then you will need to use a resistor divider at the VDD input. Or you can use a device with a sense pin such as TPS3890 in which you can set the threshold using a resistor divider at the SENSE pin.

To narrow down the options, what are the design priorities? Low cost? Low Iq? Small size? Programmable delay?
