BQ76PL455A-Q1: How to totally shut down BQ76PL455A-Q1 ?

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Hi

We are looking for a way to further reduce the sleep mode power consumption. The 22 uA sleep mode power consumption is too high for our application.

May i have your suggestion how to totally shut down BQ76PL455A-Q1 the we can reduce the power consumption to almost 0 uA ? (if external circuit is required, it is ok)

  • Hello,

22 uA typical is the lowest power state.

There is no way to totally shut it down.

    Thanks!

    Andy

  • Hello,

Thank you for your question. ISLEEP is the shutdown mode and it is the lowest power state in the device, so the specified power consumption in this state as as low as possible and it can't be further reduced. This device is normally used for automotive applications with high cell capacity (e.g. 10Ah) and this level of shutdown current is so low that it won't discharge the battery. May I ask what is the application that you using this device for and what is the capacity of the cells you want to use?

    Regards,

    Leslie

  • Hi Leslie,

It is for automotive application. The battery capacity is 40Ah.

    Thanks!

  • Hi PY,

Thanks for the information, however there is not much to do about the low current. However, with the capacity at that level, the 22uA should be minimal concern over time. Please kindly click the Resolved my issue button and open a new thread if another question arises.

    Best Regards,

    Taylor
