TPS3620-33-EP: Vout switching time

Hello,

Can you provide any information on how long TPS3620-33-EP takes to switch from VBAT to VDD once the requirements are met? The requirements are VDD > VBAT or VDD > VIT. The datasheet makes it look like switching VOUT back to VDD happens instantaneously, but I'm sure some delay exists. I'm using the TPS3620-33-EP to provide backup battery power to an IC, and I'm concerned that if it take too long to switch VOUT from VBAT to VDD, my IC could see 3.3V on its inputs while still running on battery power (~2.5V).

Hey Adevries,

I am unsure of the delay as it was never specified, however I imagine it is quite a bit faster than the time it will take for the output to rise from the change in voltage.

Generally I find the time it takes to change the output capacitance takes up the bulk of the time.

Thanks for the advice, that helps. Also, did you mean to say "charge the output capacitance"? Otherwise, I don't know what you mean when you say "change the output capacitance".
