BQ24295: Fast blinking or steady state on LED depending on individual wall adaptor

Part Number: BQ24295

Hi there.

In one of our applications the charger LED blinks fast or is steady state on depending on the wall adaptor connected through USB, although there is no battery connected  to the BQ24295 (in bothe cases of course).
Thanks in advance for any explanations.

  • Hi Achim,

If /CE is pin, charge is enabled.  With on battery, the charger charges up the output capacitor, the capacitor disables and then chargers recharges, repeatedly, causing the LED to blink fast.

As to how this related to input wall adapter, I am not certain.  I would expect the above behavior if the charger voltage at VBUS>UVLO.  What is the voltage at VBUS and REGN with adapter that doesn't cause blinking?

    Regards,

    Jeff
