EM1402EVM: EMB1428

Part Number: EM1402EVM

Hi,

I am still unsure why I am receiving the fault_int error when I try to balance.

I have read and verified all of the settings in the registers and they are valid (even set to defaults). No faults are found in any of the fault registers while running. I still cannot determine why I see a fault of b0111 returned on SDO as it doesn't show up in any of the tables.

  • Hi Malcolm,

This is not an expected behavior of the device since that code is not valid. Have you tried on another unit? It might be a defective/damaged device.

  • Hi Leslie

I just ordered and tried a new board and it works. I don't understand what might happened. It was working and then stopped.

Is there anything that you might suspect that could cause this?

As a note, when I was going through the registers of the board that doesn't work, I noticed MASK_SYS 0x6A (106) System Fault Masks was set tp $80. It says that f the SYS_RESET_MSK is set to 1, this setting should be burned to EEPROM in order to provide useful information.

What does this SYS_RESET_MSK with a 1 bit mean? and what does should be programmed to provide useful information mean?

I want to see if the board can be recovered.

    Thanks,

    Malcolm

  • Hi Malcolm,

I'm glad you got it to work on the 2nd board!

I'm not sure what could have cause the other device to fail. If you want to recover the 2nd board I would start by replacing the IC itself, not the whole board. If the issue goes away, then you know it was a damaged IC. If the issue doesn't go away, then you know it's related to the board so you can start debugging the board components to see if something is damaged.

    Best regards,

    Leslie
