Hello,
Is it possible to use the gauge with a battery which doesn't have a thermistor? Reading the gauges' datasheet I would say it isn't. But on the schematic included in the BQ27530EVM (SLUUA09B), on page 3, it is stated "Only needed when the Gauge is monitoring the battery NTC." right next to a group of parts related to the temperature sensing. So, there is some setting on the gauge registers so the gauge can be used to control the BQ24161 in host mode but with a battery without thermistor?
Thanks,
Alexandru Petrescu
Hi Alexandru
The gauge has an internal temperature sensor. Pls see the TRM and use bqstudio on how to configure that sensor to be what is used by the gauge instead of the thermistor.
