BQ25601D: About I2C Access Enable wait time from REGN Out put enable

Other guy same question , but  we need again almost same question. 

BQ25601D is I2C Host control device and Customer application has  MCU with I2C communication. 

Host side will start  I2C Communication after  BQ25601D  POR sequence. 

But  BQ25601D  did not response just  NAK Only.    * We guess SCL / SDA  High level reason.   

We want to know  BQ25601D I2C Stable time after POR sequence. 

*This mean  we thinking need  I2C Communication little wait time after POR sequence. 

Now  Our Customer try wait time 300msec  when  I2C Communication after POR. 

Yes, this is I2C Communication is OK.   But No wait time is I2C Communication is  " Fail ".

[ Question ] 

1)  Could you tell us  I2C Communication  wait time  after  BQ25601D Por sequence ?? 

     *  If can possible  tell us    I2C Communication Wait time after  REGN Enable too.     

        We know REGN need 220msec time  after POR  . * Data Sheet  9.3.3.1 Power Up REGN Regulation  

    Now Customer  will Try I2C Communication after  REGN Enable with POR , 

    But Customer  I2C Contamination Fail without  Wait time, 

2)  If we need I2C Communication wait time  after POR . 

     Could you tell us  about this reason ??

  • Hey March.

    The wait til is dependent on whether the IC is active above the UVLO threshold. After POR (VBUS or BAT above UVLO), the charger should be able to communicate.

    I believe it the customer waits at least 300ms, that should be plenty of time, but it does not need to be that long.

    The wait time is required in order to allow the digital state machine time to power up once a valid power source is applied to the charger.
