TPS53819A: Device security settings can not be determined because the MFR_SPECIFIC_42 command could not be read: NACK

I am looking into the reason for the Device Security Settings warning with our FUSION Digital Designer software team.

The reason VOUT, ON DELAY, RISE, OFF DELAY and FALL are N/A in the digital designer System View for the TPS53819A is that the TPS53819A does not use standard PMBus commands for these functions and their results are dependent on external component selections that are not readable through the PMBus interface.

The output voltage for the TPS53819A is set by a resistor divider from Vout to FB, the PMBus interface allows some adjustment from this default voltage state, but the Digital Designer has no way to read that value out.

The TPS53819A does not support TON or TOFF delays or controlled TOFF_FALL through PMBus.

Since Soft-Start time is programmable through PMBus, even though its a manufacturer specific implementation, I am not sure why it is not displayed.  I will let you know what I find out.

From what we can tell, FUSION is attempting to read the MFR_SPECIFIC_42 command of the TPS53819A by error.  Some TI devices use MFR_SPECIFIC_42 to identify which device they are to FUSION, but that should not affect the ability to save and restore a project file.  You may be able to address the MFR_SPECIFIC_42 error by adjusting the Scan options used for the addresses where the TPS53819A devices are stored.

The project file should still have all of the configuration information from the TPS53819A devices, even if the Vout, On Delay, Rise, Off-delay and Fall times are not logged, the rest of the configuration should be stored and sported by PMBus address in the project file.
