LP8556: LP8556 - VBOOST_MAX calculation

Part Number: LP8556

Hi,
A few motn later, I come back with another related question.
If the answer below, you were explaining the V_BOOST_MAX caclutation.

>> Considering the LED bing effect and headroom voltage(take 1V as the worst case) and add some margin.

>> Usually, we set the (V_f+V_headrrom)*1.3=(19+1)*1.3=26V, so you can choose 30V as the OVP setting, it doesn't have an impact on the regulatio

Could you please explain what is "Bing effect'?
We would need to set max voltage to 25V (current capacitors max value), but I wanted to check if there could be an impact on my design
Thanks

  • Hi Sir,

The BIng means the LED difference, for different bing of LED, they may have different V-I characteries, If you can make sure all your LEDs is the same BIng and you can use the worst forward voltage of LED to set the maximum voltage.
