BQ25125: VINDPM function and LDO output question

Part Number: BQ25125
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25120A

Hi Team,

my customer is surveying  BQ25125 as solution and have some questions to ask

1. The definition of VINDPM mode feature

per my assume, the VINDPM mode is enable when Vin<=Vin(DPM) , when the Vin can not support the required charging current and system load, the charger will go into VINDPM mode, during this mode, the input current will be limited by internal blocking FET to prevent Vin drop below VUVLO, in this mode the battery charging and system load is still active but the charging current and system load current will be limited.  Also , the safety timer is extended to 2X timer and termination current threshold limit is disable , to let the charging is still active under supply current limited situation in this case. And if the battery(VBAT>VIN & VBAT> VBAT_UVLO) is connected during this mode(VUVLO<VIN<VIN(DPM)), the battery charging will stop and the PMID and VSYS, LS / LDO will be supply by BAT. and if we disable the VINDPM function , the charger will charge the battery with the require or programmed current until Vin drop below VUVLO and stop charging.

2. second question is , what is the BQ25120A's default LDO Vout?

since customer is using BQ25120A as previous solution , and now they are surveying BQ25125 and know that the default LDO output is 1.8V, so they wanted to know any different of LDO Vout (default) between two devices.

per my check on d/s , BQ25120A's LS/LDO Vout is default set as load switch mode and LS/LDO voltage come from VINLS(load switch) pin, output voltage is LS/LDO = VINLS - V(DROPOUT). but what's the default output (VLDO) when it's on LDO mode ? is it 1.8V ?

not sure if my understanding is correct, please kindly provide the suggestion if I have misunderstood any point.

many thanks!

Andy
