Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD18504Q5A,
Hello,
I have a design implementing the LM3150 converter to go from an input of 24V nominal to 16.8V output. The overall architecture seems to be working OK however we keep blowing both high side and low side FETs at what seem to be very low currents. We are using CSD18504Q5A components on both top and bottom and are seeing them blow out at a current limited 3A after only a relatively short period of time (<10sec). The enable pin of the IC is currently connected to Vin through a series resistor, so the pin sees the full 24V. I am aware that the datasheet specs an operating maximum of 5V and I believe an absolute maximum of 7V. I am intending on putting in a divider to bring the enable voltage down to a usable level but I wanted to know if this excessive voltage on the pin could be causing behaviors in the IC which would cause the FETs to blow?
Thanks,
Adam
