Customer is looking for a 2 phase interleaved PFC controller to support CCM in normal load and CRM in light load. Could you please check what we can proposed here? Thank you.
Aki
We do not have an analog controller that has multi-mode control where it is in CCM in full load and CrM/DCM in light load.
The only solution we have today would use one of our digital controllers. I cannot find a reference design that demonstrates this, but the following video shows how our C2000 controllers can work in PFC boost topology https://training.ti.com/digitally-controlled-high-efficiency-and-high-power-density-pfc-circuits-part-1
I will loop in experts for our C2000 team to provide more information on how to support multi-mode PFC control.
Best Regards,
Eric
C2000 microcontroller can be used to implement this multimode PFC control. We have reference designs that show these CCM and CRM control in separate PFC designs. But we dont have a reference design that uses both control in the same PFC design.
You will have to study and review our solutions TRM PFC (TIDA-0961) and CCM PFC (ILPFC and TIDM-1007) and implement the combined control by yourself.
Certainly it is doable by C2000 but we dont have solution available today.
All the designs TIDA-0961, ILPFC and TIDM-1007 are available on TI.com
