TPS61196: boost didn't work

Hello, team!

I'm a student from University of Technology in Gdansk and I have a problem with my project. I want to connect two devices: WAFER-ULT3-i3-r10 and touch screen MI2150BT-1 using TPS61196. I chose a typical application for three channels, but it doesn't work. The voltage on the output does not boost. Do any of you know what could be the reason?

I attach the connection diagram with the specifications of WAFER and Mi215.

Hi Zbyszek,

I'm happy to received your question, can you provide the schematic and the connect block diagram about your test bench? The attachment is too long for me to find the right information, what you have down with the unused channels?

Hi, Sean!

Thank You for so fast answer. Below is my test bench and characteristic of channel current and voltage. I power the TPS61196 without WAFER, because it was an additional problem and first I have connected only Power Supply and ESP-32. I am using only three channels and these channels I connected with resistor 10M, like in a typical application. The unused channels i connected with resistor 30k, like it was written in the specyfication.

I am not sure if this is the answer to your question.

Hello, Sean,

I tried to calculate the items you provided, but I'm not sure I did it right. Could you check if my values are good?

In this sheet I also entered the resistances and capacities used in my inverter. Could You check it, please?

Hi Zbyszek,

Vovp should be 1.3 of Vout max, it is the overvoltage protection.

Hi, Sean,

I changed the value of the resistor R3 to 215k and in theory this causes the OVP to increase to 68V. Unfortunately, this solution still does not work. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

I don't have more commons on the calculation, it seems ok, so please refer to our TPS61196EVM schematic and that may be helpful for you.
