TPS7H1101-SP: Thermal Pad to GND Connection

Hi team, 

Is the TPS7H1101-SP ground/thermal pad (pin 8) internally connected to GND? In other words, does the thermal pad need to be connected to GND for functionality/performance, not just for thermal dissipation?

    AH,

    The package electrically ties the thermal pad to pin 8 (GND) and also the lid.

    The thermal pad must be connected to GND potential as well as have appropriate thermal relief.
