BQ40Z80: bq40z80 SMBUS address

Hi,

I don't understund the meanings of address in the different section of bqstudio and TRM of BQ40Z80.

In the bqstudio under "advanced comm SMB" there is a field "Target address" that is set 0x17. If I change this value with other numbers, nothing happens.

Meanwhile under "data memory-> settings->SMBUS address", 0x16 is reported.

In addition, if i start to sniff the protocol with the oscilloscope, the address captured is 0x0b.

Can you explain me the situation?

It is 0x17. Can you also post a screenshot of bqStudio.

Mybe I understood the situation

0x17 is the address of the Microcontroller on the bq40z80EVM.

0x16 is the address of the chip bq40z80.

Can you confirm?

BQ40z80's 7-bit i2c address is 0x0b and its 8-bit i2c address is 0x16 or 0x17, depending on whether it is a read or write operation.
