LM5116: How to integrate both CV & CC control

Hi application team,

A customer asks us how to achieve both CV and CC regulations in DCDC application using LM5116.

Now Customer is asking if it is possible by two configurations(Idea-1 & 2) showed in attached PDF file.

CV&CC regulations on LM5116 application(032620).pdf

- Can you advise if it is achievable with either of those configurations(Idea-1 & 2)?

- If you have any other application example or application note to do it in LM5116 application, please tell them.

- If you know a better recommendation IC to do it, please advise that product as well.

What is the goal of the external circuit?

What customer would like to know is how to configure both CC and CV regulation on the application using LM5116.

The idea1 and idea2 in the attached file are the circuit configurations that the customer imagines could be achieved if such usage was possible on LM5116 application. If it can be achieved with another circuit configuration, that is fine.

Hi, Team,
How about any response to this post?

I know that LM5117 can achieve the requirement(both CV and CC regulation) easily because of having current monitor pin and that application note is prepared.

Though I already introduced the LM5117 application note(SNVA829–June 2018), customer would like to know the possibility to configure them on LM5116 application.
So, please give your comments to questions on my original post.
