The BQ25601 has replaced the BQ24261M, which we don't recommend for new designs. They both have similar CC/CV battery charging profile, however as you've mentioned, yes there are a few differences to note as shown below:
The BQ25601 has an input voltage range of 3.9V - 13.5V, whereas the BQ24261M has an input range of 4.2V - 13.2V
Both devices have the VINDPM feature, however, the BQ25601 has a dynamic VINDPM tracking feature which lets you configure VINDPM based on the battery voltage that is being tracked
In addition, the BQ25601 device's integrated FETs have a lower Rdson value compared to the BQ24261M, resulting in higher efficiency
