BQ34Z100: BQ34Z100

Part Number: BQ34Z100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400

BQ34Z100 can't communicate with MCU through I2C or HDQ, I don't know the reason, please help me.

R55 change to 0 ohm(because if R55 is 1K,VEN is 0.06V),

delete R72 and R73.(because EV2400 already provide 3.3V)

  • Hi

I am afraid your R55 usage is not correct, this pin is active high, most of the time it is low, this is why you measured a low voltage at this pin, when you short this pin to REG2.5, it would draw excess current from the device LDO, and the excess current would flow into this pin, this could damage the device.

Please do not short VEN to REG first, and replace a new device to see if the communication would work as expected.
