BQ34110: how to use BQ34110

Part Number: BQ34110

dear

my customer use BQ34100 for the fist time and there have some questions as below

1. If the power meter chip is normally used to monitor the voltage, current and temperature of the power supply, what operation is required for SOC?

2. What is Operation Config A in the RM manual and where is it operated?

3. Can you give an example of I2C reading voltage? For example: what data to send first, then what data to send and so on.

 thanks in advance

  • Hi Raymond,

    See my comments below.

    1. If the power meter chip is normally used to monitor the voltage, current and temperature of the power supply, what operation is required for SOC?

BQ34110 is a gas gauge and supposed to work with batteries.

    2. What is Operation Config A in the RM manual and where is it operated?

Details about each bit in the Operation Config A are already mentioned in the TRM.

    3. Can you give an example of I2C reading voltage? For example: what data to send first, then what data to send and so on.

    See the app note below.
