LP87524P-Q1: I2C addressing in case two PMIC-s are connected to the same bus

Hi Lauri,

If more than one LP87524x devices are connected to one I2C bus, they need to have separate I2C address, otherwise there will be address conflict and I2C wont work correctly.

I2C address is set during the OTP definition at TI factory. Are you planning to have two LP87524 devices on the same board and connected to same I2C bus?

I was exactly trying to have two LP87524 devices on the same board and connected to same I2C bus.

Looks like it's a nightmare to handle with OTP. I have to figure out, how to keep them on separate busses.

Hi Lauri,

User cannot change the I2C address ( with the existing PMIC, it is 0x60)  and you will need a PMIC (new part number) with different I2C address if you want to use both the PMICs on same I2C bus. Creating new part number device with different I2C address is possible, but it requires business case justification. Can you please contact your local TI FAE/Sales team so that they can help you further on this topic?

Hi,

You cannot modify and save any OTP settings through I2C. During power up, certain OTP settings are loaded in to register and user can alter these register settings through I2C and these register content will get reset once PMIC supply is turned off. The register settings which can be changed after power up is given in the datasheet Register Maps section.

I2C address is part of device configuration OTP and this is not accessible to users through any register settings.
