Hi sir/Madam.

we have requirement for single phase (Single LM5116) Buck converter with 380W output power.

Previously we have worked with PMP2782 and we have observed the 27A load sharing in one phase of 2-phase Interleaved converter for 50A load for same LM5116 IC and now, we are planning to use LM5116 for 380W requirement.

Our requirement is as follows:

Vin: 15V to 42V

Efficiency: > 90%

Load current: 30A

So, please support us for the following queries regarding LM5116.

  1. what is maximum power capability?
  2. Currently, we are using IC for 300W. if we use this IC for more than 300W, what are the major components that have to be changed?

    Hi,

    LM5116 is a buck controller and the maximum power capability is determined by the power MOSFETs you choose. If you want to have a higher output power, at first you need to check if the MOSEFTs can endure the current, if not you need to change high-current rating MOSFETs, at the same time you need to check the drive current requirements of new MOSFETS and driver capability of LM5116. Thanks.
