BQ78350-R1: Bq78350 ROM mode usage

Hi,

Why setting ROM mode can be useful? I have to options in my mind:

1. As I understand that If I set the ROM modeI can write the Flash with some ease that does not harm the IC ?

2. Before updating the fw , for example to R2 ?
