LM5060-Q1: ISO16750-2 Test A Stringiest Requirements

Part Number: LM5060-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM7480-Q1

Hello

We're designing an automotive grade product which will be constantly connected to vehicle 12V/24V battery power.

We have requirements of input transient protection to meet the stringiest requirements according to ISO7367-2 and ISO16750-2.

The main issue is ISO16750-2 Test A (Load Dump without centralized load dump suppression) with Us = 202V and Ri = 1 Ohm with Class A operation as the highest energy transient source.

TIDA-01167 solution based on LM5060-Q1 looks good for us as a starting point, but unfortunately it doesn't meet required load dump suppression.

We have two versions of product with different input power specs:

1. 4.4V - 36V input voltage at normal conditions, 0.1A max. Output voltage of protection circuit: 4.4V - 36V at normal conditions, 60V max at transient conditions

2. 6.0V - 36V input voltage at normal conditions, 1.0A max. Output voltage of protection circuit: 6.0V - 36V at normal conditions, 60V max at transient conditions

It's also required under-voltage protection (4.4V and 6.0V respectively) and reverse polarity protection.

Could you please point me what is the cost-effective solution could be used to meet our requirements?

Thank you.
