LP5012EVM: LP5012EVM unable to communicate with LP50-1.1.1_EVM as I cannot set correct I2C address

In order to communicate with the LP5012EVM board I need to set the I2C address in LP50 to 0x14.

The "Latest Version" (v1.1.1 (2c26f1)) will not accept this as a valid address "stating it must be 0x28, 0x29, 0x2A or 0x2B".

Since the USB2ANY is using this as a 7-bit address, with 0x28 the physical bus sends I2C bus 0x50 (shifted 1-bit to left).

All forums replies from technical support state in the latest version of LP50 you can set address to 0x14, this is NOT the case.

Hi Chris,

You could refer to last reply of below thread. Could you help try to delete the GUI firstly, then install the new one?

Hello,

Yes that did work, however that brings up many questions:

a) Why do the old and new version have Exactly the same file name "Setup_lp50-1.1.1_EVM.exe" (File size are different at least, 87023KB for old and 86996KB for new)

b) Why do all links from the product page go to the Wrong Old Version

c) I searched through many forum links, and did not find this, I downloaded from 5 links, all went to the wrong version

Hi Chris,

Sorry for the inconvenience. We will finally update new version GUI to TI.com, but the process would take some time. It is a temporary way to update new version GUI in E2E, which made some mess on it.
