LMZM33606: Review request LMZM33606 & LMZM33603

Part Number: LMZM33606
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZM33603,

Hi All,

The two parts we used in the design LMZM33606 load is 14W @ 3.3V configuration and LMZM33603 load current is 2A @3.3V

Please review and provide your feedback asap.

regards,

  • Hi Selva,

I've received your request and will provide schematic feedback by end of today.

    Regards,

    Jimmy

  • Hi Selva,

I was able to take a look at your schematic and have a few comments, see below:

    • U1 (LMZM33603)
      1. For UVLO selection of 10V, bottom resistor should be 20.5k. In your schematic, the bottom resistor is currently 22.6k. See Table 7
      2. During PCB layout, I'd recommend placing the 0.1uF high frequency capacitor after the input capacitors and as close as possible to VIN.
      3. Everything else follows the recommend typical application component selection.
      4. When designing PCB layout, please follow the recommended Layout guidelines listed in Section 10.1.
    • U2 (LMZM33606)
      1. For 3.3V output, bottom resistor should be 22.6k. Currently the schematic shows 23.2k. See Table 1
      2. Similar to above recommendation, please 0.1uF high frequency capacitor as close as possible to VIN pin.
      3. Everything else follows the recommend typical application component selection.
      4. For PCB layout design, make sure to have isolated pads for DNC and small copper island under SW for thermal relief
      5. When designing PCB layout, please follow the recommended Layout guidelines listed in Section 10.1.

Let me know if you have any questions on this.

    Regards,

    Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

    Thank you for your comments.

FOR U1 : I agree the changes of resistor and 0.1uF capcaitor was added at VIN

FOR U2. Table 7 need to refer instead of table 1. Please confirm. 13.7K only we used as per the table

  • Selva,

The 13.7k (R189) resistor in your schematic is correct for setting a UVLO of 10V.

However, you didn't pick the recommended standard component resistor for a 3.3V output voltage. Your schematic shows R182 as 23.2k but it should be 22.6k to get a 3.3V output following Table 1.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
