TPS61023: output drops after 400 ms

Hi,

I'm using TPS61023 to boost voltage from a battery to 5.5 V, and converting to 5 V using LDO. My issue is when the load is not attached, the voltage rail is correct, however, when a load is attached, the voltage drops after 400 ms. I also noticed the inductor gets really hot, my guess is the switch node is always on. Can anyone provide any hint to solve this?

May I know the load current that you applied at output?

Hi Zack,

I tried with different loads, and the circuit works with resistive load. Later I tried to add a large capacitor (470 uF) at the output, and it works fine now. But I'm still curious why the regulator stuck at a state cannot recover by itself.

BTW, the load draws 100 mA in steady-state.
