BQ27542-G1: Question about bqStudio

Part Number: BQ27542-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, EV2400

Hi team,

My customer is facing an issue about bqStudio. In the Programming Section, they selected the srec files and programmed it by clicking on the Program button. Then they clicked on Execute FW button, during which it throws me the error "No acknowledge from device". They write the srec files using the EV2300.

At below URL, TI recommends Power off and then power on the gauge device. But they cannot that because the battery and gas gauge are integrated.

Do you have other option to solve this issue?

Best regards,

Shotaro

  • Hello,

I would recommend trying with the EV2400, the EV2300 is no longer actively updated and supported, also try using the most updated version of bqStudio (the test version)

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Hello Keller-san,

The customer tried with EV2400. But they saw Fail.

Do you have other option to solve this issue other than Power off and then power on the gauge device?

They cannot that because the battery and gas gauge are integrated.

    Best regards,

    Shotaro

  • Hello,

The gauge is most likely in ROM mode. You can try to program again, but if that fails, please swap the IC and try again.

During programming, make sure nothing interrupts the programming operation.

  • Hello Sakai-san,

I think the confusion stems from the error message displayed when using "Execute FW" button. This step will fail if the firmware is already executing.

Newer versions of bqStudio automatically execute the firmware. The additional step of "Execute FW" if not required.

Please check if the firwware was executed automatically. This can be checked by restarting bqStudio. bqStudio will automatically detect and show the correct gauge if the firmware was executed.
