Hello,
I'm really happy to see finally a charger and not a controller with USB PD capabilities and BC1.2! just miss the CC1 CC2 :)
Anyway, when in OTG can we control the D+ and D-? not defined in the datasheet. There is read /write DAC register to read and maybe change the voltage of the pins.
When charging Apple product for exemple the source has be compliant to BC1.2. 5V only doesn't work via an USB C connector
THank you
David
Hi David,
Yes, the D+/D- output voltages pins are adjustable via I2C from HiZ, 0V, 0.6V, 1.2V, 2.0V, 2.7V and 3.3V in charge mode and OTG mode. Keep in mind the charger does not have CCx pins so when charging, you will still need to externally configure CCxx lines to get power at 5V from USB Type C port. For USB Type C PD port, you will need a PD controller IC for higher than 5V output.
Regards,
Jeff
Thank you for your quick feedback.
Yes for the CC controller. As actually we have on the market a mix no other choice to get USB PD and BC1.2 to cover all cases.
Best regards, David
