MOSFET

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD88539ND, CSD87502Q2, CSD17581Q5A

Hi team,

My customer is looking for a MOSFET.

The customer is currently using Toshiba's TPCP8204 x 3pcs. The customer would like to replace it to our MOSFET.

If possible, the customer would like to consolidate 3pcs MOSFET to 1pcs MOSFET, so the PD requires three times. They need two types of VDSS, one is 30V, and the other is more than 40V.

Could you tell me the recommended device?

Regards,

Yamaguchi

  • Hello Yamaguchi san,

Thanks for promoting TI FETs at  your customer. Our closest cross to the Toshiba device is the CSD87502Q2. This is a 30V, dual NFET in 2x2mm SON package. TI doesn't make more than 2 FETs in a single package and we do not have any dual FETs rated at 40V. The only other option is the CSD88539ND, 60V dual FET in SO8 package. Please note, this device must be driven with VGS >= 6V.

  • Hello John-san,

    Thanks for the proposal.

Sorry to my unclear question. Customer doesn't want dual or triple channels MOSFET. Customer wants single channel MOSFET which can handle three times power dissipation than TPCP8204. Do you have such a high power MOSFET with 30V, and more than 40V?

    Regards,

    Yamaguchi

  • Hi Yamaguchi-san,

Sorry for my misunderstanding. TI has many MOSFET package options including 2x2mm, 3x3mm  & 5x6 SON and D2PAK. that can dissipate greater power than the Toshiba device. I did a search for FETs in these packages rated 30V to 60V and 10mOhm max at VGS = 10V and came up with 47 part numbers in the attached spreadsheet.

In order to narrow down the selection, I need more information about the application and requirements. Is there a space constraint and is there a preference on package type and size? Is this a switch-mode (i.e. power supply or motor drive) or a load switch/hot swap/OR'ing application? How much current (DC or RMS) does the FET need to conduct? Does the customer have a maximum rds(on) target? What is the gate drive voltage? Any other requirements you can share?

Below you will find a link to a technical article detailing the maximum power than can be dissipated in TI MOSFET packages.
