BQ40Z80: 6S configuration read back from BQ40Z80 with wrong result

Part Number: BQ40Z80
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400, BQSTUDIO

Hi team,

Customer use BQ40Z80 on 6S application; they get the right configuration for the connection, however, they find in the data memory -> settings page, the "cell configuration" register shows the wrong read back data "000" for CC2, CC1, CC0; which the correct should be “110”.  They try to modify the register value, however it couldn't be changed, could you help us understand what's wrong and how to get the right result?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Will

  • Hi Will,

From the data displayed in the image, it looks like all flash registers are reading back 0xFFFF. Are you sure that BQStudio is able to communicate with the device? Can you check the Dashboard on the left side of the BQStudio window to ensure the EV2400 and the Device are both detected correctly? You may want to check the Quick Start section in the EVM User Guide to see if there are any steps missing in your setup.

    Best regards,

    Matt
