Hi Robert,
Could please explain in more detail what exactly is going wrong? Are the FETs not turning on or off, is cell balancing not working, etc?
Hi Shawn, sorry for the lack of detail. The issue is there is nothing going on. No FET operation, no cell balancing etc. I have used a PSU as well as a 4 cell li-on charger.
Thanks
Hi Robert,
I would recommend following the quick start sequence in the EVM user guide to test out the functionality of your board. It is going to be difficult to debug your issue without a lot more detail, but I would assume that something is not connected correctly, or possibility there is a fault condition present.
still having issues with this design, I am not getting any operation from the FET'S or balance function. Could someone please check my schematic for an issue?
Hi Robert,
I would suggest using an Rin value of 33 Ohm and a Cin value of 1uF for the internal cell balancing feature.
Cvdd should be 1uF.
I would recommend connecting a 10k Ohm pull down resistor on the CBI pin.
Thanks for the reply Shawn, I have completed the mods and there is now some signs of life as it will draw current from the psu/charger for about 3 secs before its goes into what seems protection. If I disconnect and then reconnect the balance connector it will rest and then draw current for 3sec or so and go back into protection.
Hi Robert,
Have you confirmed that the device is truly in a protection mode? Have you identified which fault is being triggered?
