LM4040: add capacitors to input/output pin at series connection

Part Number: LM4040
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering LM4040 with series.

Could you please see the application schematic and advise.

They think series connection is no problem.

They'd like to know the capacitors between output/input.

Are there any limitations about capacitor value.

Also are there any point to keep in mind.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

The LM4040 has no output cap limitations. The LM4040 is stable with all capacitor values.

    Is there a reason you are using 2x 2.5V LM4040 instead of 1 5V LM4040?

  • Hi Maroo,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand LM4040 output capacitance doesn't have any limitatation.

I'll share this information with the customer.

Actually, the customer is considering LM4040-2.5 and LM4040-2.0

    I could not find LM4040-2.0 in the TINA-TI, I uesd two LM4040-2.5.

    That is the reason.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
