BQ40Z80: Is the chip applicable for a 7-Series BMS design?

Hello,

we are currently developing a new 7-Series BMS. For this we would like to use the BQ40Z80.
Now I noticed that the data sheet has been updated and the 7-Series option has been removed.

Is the BQ40Z80 still suitable for a 7-Series BMS?

Hello Tonino,

We don't recommend using the bq40z80 with new 7S applications, The bq34z100 is a top of stack gauge that can support 7S gauging, using a protector IC in conjunction you can get similar functionality.

Hello!

Remember my problem with the BQ40z80 ?

I already have several BMS on this chip. 
For one of the solutions I am waiting for a firmware update, the other is now setting up for the customer.
But now I see that the microcircuit has stopped supporting 7S assemblies. 
Does this mean my boards and months of development can be thrown into the trash bin? 
For what reason can the microcircuit now only be able to 6S? 
And what should I do in this situation? Will I wait for a firmware from you that supports 7S build?

Right now, the microcircuit is behaving incorrectly and periodically does this.
 I cannot restore the firmware.

Hello Dmitriy,

The gauge will have the functionality of 7S for builds already using the BQ40Z80, but it should not be used in new designs for 7S.

I don't think the image you attached uploaded correctly. Can you try attaching again?
