I am using a smart battery pack on my device, which uses BQ40z50r1 IC on battery.

In this i have noticed the 2nd LEVEL protector failure bit has been enabled on the PF alert.

Can i able to read the Status of battery through Black box recorder.

Could you able to suggest to find how the battery failed through black box recorder.

The best way is to dump out the black box recording and look at the PF DF parameters.

2. Full access

3. Data memory

4. Dump out gg files

5. Check the PF section for the blackbox recorder.

I am able to read the values in the fuel Gauge registers. But still i have some question to be shared

1.How the Ra table values for the 4 cells to be programmed in the battery pack. Is it configurable or the resistance values will be automatically when the cells are connected in series(4s1p battery).

2.How we can read the AFE register in detail, like what bits has been set? Is it possible to trace the register setting. Kindly suggest the step if possible.

3.How to set the ship mode FET off time. Auto ship time.how many min does a ship time to be given, How to disable battery from ship mode?/

Hello Anandan,

1. The Ra tables are programmed by chemID by default, but updated by the Impedance Track algorithm over time.

2. You can read the Status bits. Please refer to TRM on which registers and bits you need.

3. You can find this in the ship mode information of the TRM.

In BQ40Z50 fuel Gauge IC, in calibration Data flash Section ,How to calibrate the voltage and current.

If to be how to be configured the cell gain, pack gain , BAT gain of the voltage or it is fine to set the default value.
