Hi,

I already asked similar question last year but the requirement was got dropped. We have same requirement so below is the query.

We have to make DC energy meter that is having voltage and current measurement range up to 270V DC and 80A DC respectively.

Accuracy of the DC meter should be 1% across the voltage, current range and operating temperature range of -40C to 70C.

Query:

1. Please suggest metering chip that supports the DC parameter measurement with the specs mentioned above.

2. If there is no metering chip than could you please suggest the solution wherein we can measure the voltage, current , energy parameter.

    Hello,

    The FAQ that Eddie mentioned in the thread above is still applicable if using EMDC. If that's not an option, then consider using the TIDM-SERVER-PWR-MON software based on the MSP430i2041. For the voltage and current ranges, a voltage divider is used to reduce the voltage to the one ADC channel and you would need a larger shunt to handle the 80A - you can size both of these using your max expected voltage and current and the max FSR per gain value in the datasheet.
