LMR14020-Q1: Spread-Spectrum function

Part Number: LMR14020-Q1

My customer is looking for an IC with the following specifications.

1. Vehicle regulations.
2. Vin: 7V~40V.
3. The frequency can be carried out below 27V.
4. Iout: 2A or more.

I remember that TI’s Buck ICs all support Spread-Spectrum, but they are not specifically written in the specifications. I still want to confirm.
Does this IC support Spread-Spectrum?

Best Regards,

Kami Huang

  • Hi Kami,

      1.  Yes, LMR14020-Q1's rating  is Automotive(AEC-Q100 Qualified).

      2.  Yes, it can work with 4~40V Vin.

      3.  What's the target switching frequency you want to use? Do you want to use the same frequency over all input range? I'll be appreciated if you can describe this question more detailed.

      4.  It can support 2A output in most situation. What's the output voltage?

Not all the TI's buck support Spread-Spectrum. But I'm glad to tell you that some of LMR14020-Q1 support Spread-Spectrum. They can offer ±6% frequency dithering over center frequency. Please check the table below for detailed part number.
