TPS2595: Additional Error in SLVC704 Design Calculator RevA

Part Number: TPS2595

I corrected the error in SLVC704 cell L35 as per the other E2E solution. However, cell D52 seems to have an addition data validation problem where it disallows entering the text "OPEN" despite the help text saying "Use OPEN or >=3.3nF" in the pop-up.

What is needed to allow this entry to calculate the behavior for CdVdT_ext = 0 (non-pop)?

Will SLVC704 be updated to a new revision to correct the L35 and this error at some point?

Thanks,
Thomas

  • Hi Thomas,

    Welcome two e2e.

Design calculator works in the way that  if you select Tchg_req or Icharge_req as Tchg_fastest or Icharge_fastest then CdVdT_ext value is recommended as OPEN.

If you want to enter OPEN in CdVdT_ext field select D52 ,go to data->data validation then select allow any value.

What is the error in L35? We are working on any error and will update it.

    Regards

  • Hello Kunal,

I see now that CdVdT_ext can be auto-calculated as "OPEN" given use of different values in other fields than the application I was examining. An increased current limit and/or reduced output capacitance relative to my design produced that result. If I need to force this field to "OPEN", I will remove the data validation setting in Excel.

The error in L35 is from the related question and affects Imax settings <1.8 A: https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/t/822228

    Thanks,
    Thomas
