Suggestion for to design 36 Volt (350 Watt) and 12 Volt (45Watt) AC/DC converter design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28C42

Hi,

Can anyone please suggest for the design of 36 Volt (350 Watt) and 12 Volt (45Watt) AC/DC converter.

Input 90VAC - 265VAC, AC power supply

Output: 36 Volt (350 Watt) and 12 Volt (45Watt)

Which topology should adopt while designing these two.

Also, please suggest the important IC/ Controller to be used.

Regards,

Chandan

  • Hello,

For the 90V to 265 V AC to 350 W 36 V output you could design a two switch forwarded converter.

You could use a winding off the transformer to power the 12 V 45 W secondary supply for a total power of 495 W.

You can do an offline forwarded converter in a two switch forwarded with a UCC28C42 device.  The following link will bring you to a Webench design tool that can help you with your design.  Please note if you have any questions using this device please repost a new thread with UCC28C42 in the title so the appropriate applications engineer can help you with your design.

    Regards,
