BQ25703A: Without DC Source condition

Part Number: BQ25703A

Hi,

The BATFET turns on if there is no dc source and the battery voltage is above VVBAT_UVLOZ.

If the battery is 1S(under 4.3V) and REG0x01[7] = "0"(performance mode), I think REGNLDO(6Vout) can not be turned on.

Using 1S batter, should we set "1"(low power mode) into REG0x01[7]?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi,

In battery-only mode, if VBAT > VBAT_UVLOZ, then the BATFET turns on and connects the battery to the system.

The REGN voltage is based on either VBUS or VSYS, whichever is higher. If either VBUS > 6V or VSYS > 6V, then REGN is regulated to 6V. However, if VBUS and VSYS are both below 6V, then the REGN LDO will operate in dropout mode instead. If this is not needed, then you can leave the device in low power mode to reduce the quiescent current. The REGN LDO is off in low power mode.
