Hi Art,
How are they powering their EVM? Did they press the WAKEUP button before starting bqStudio? Can you confirm that they have followed all the steps in the EVM User's Guide?
Best,
Jessica
Hello Jessica,
According to the customer, he is powering it with a DC power supply. And yes, he did press wake-up button before opening bq studio. And, he have followed all the steps mentioned in the EVM user guide.
Thanks and regards,
Art
Hello Art,
Sometimes the default config in Cell Configuration is different than the application and will cause the gauge to shutdown. Try holding the wakeup button and make sure the system present pin is connected to PACK-.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello Wyatt,
The customer have tried this one but it did not work for him. Let me know what else can be done.
Thanks and regards,
Art
Hello Art,
If you're not auto-detecting the gauge then make sure the correct .bqz is uploaded as well. If they open the bqz manually can they read registers? Does this happen with more than one board? The EVM could be damaged from ESD or other event. The only other thing is bad hardware connection.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello Wyatt,
Customer is asking for the correct .bqz file so that he can cross check with the files in his directory.
Thanks and regrds,
Art
Hello Wyatt,
Good day.
Is it possible to provide customer request for a .bqz file so that he can cross check with the files in his directory?
Thanks and regards,
Art
Hello,
The bqz file is available on the product page, that is the one that should be in the config folder of the bqStudio directory.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello Wyatt,
Are you referring to the "BQ40z80 Device Firmware: 2-Series to 7-Series Battery Pack Manager"?
Thanks to confirm.
Art
Hello,
Yes the firmware downloader will have the matching bqz file with it.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello Wyatt,
Apologies for the delayed response for I was awaiting customer feedback.
The customer tried the bqz file but the LEDs in the BMS don't even come on and its not detected by the laptop.
Thanks and regards,

Hi Art,
Can you describe their setup in more detail? What voltage are they using to power up the device? How do they have it connected? Are they powering through BAT+/-? Are they using the onboard EV2400 or an external one?
Best,
Jessica
Hi Jessica,
Good day.
I'll update you as soon as the customer sends their feedback.

Art
