Hello there,

I am working on a prototype based on the BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC (Exact part no: BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1). Because of the all known stock problems, I cannot acquire enough IC's for the proto batch. There are stocks with BQ76PL455A however (exact part no: BQ76PL455APFCR).

I was trying to derive what are the differences between these 2 IC's- are they interchangeable? They have separate datasheets that are very similar.

Can the BQ76PL455A be used instead of the BQ76PL455A-Q1? If yes, what are the differences/ limitations? Is the only difference that the BQ76PL455A-Q1 is an automotive part and it has wider temp spec?

I would appreciate all help!

Hi Lukasz,

Yes we apologize but that is reality of the market right now. From device perspective, it is similar specs and can abide by the datasheet specs, however there are some internal quality/reflow/auto tests that do not get completed on the non Q1 devices to be aware of otherwise it is a similar device.

So just to make sure I understand correctly- apart from the *-Q1 being tested more "drastically" during production, it is the same device from the functionality (especially in terms of SW functions) perspective?
