TLC59283: LED brightness dimming

Dear Support,

I have to drive a 16x16 LED dot matrix. How can I change the brightness of whole matrix. I need to change the brightness depending on environment ambient light.

Hi Daniele,

There is no register in the TLC59283 which can control the whole brightness of LED matrix. Two suggestions can be try:

update the data to TLC59283 between on control and off control. The different on time/off time will achieve different brightness.
When latch the output data, control the BLANK pin to turn off or turn on all OUTn outputs. The duty of BLANK signal can control the whole brightness of LED matrix.
