TPS2376: TPS2376 ILIM resistor value

Hi,

Regarding the TPS2376 ILIM resistor value topic.

After the replacement of the wrong value resistor, we observed the following symptom:

The circuit works properly in the test, then randomly (after some hours or days) causes a short circuit and burns out.

What could be the root cause of this faulty behavior?

Hi,

Thank you for your question.

Operating outside of the recommended operating conditions of the IC may have damaged the part.

I recommend you replace the IC with a new IC and see if the problem still exists.

Hi Brett,

Thank you for the quick answer.

My idea was also that a transient due to a wrong resistance value could weaken the switching element in the IC.
