T. I.'s Reference Designs and / or Demo. Boards and / or Applications Notes etc. for Three-Phase Electronic (Static) Energy Meters, specifically compliant to Availability Based Tariff (ABT).

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am looking for our OEM Use & Applications, your ASICs for Three-Phase (3-Wire & also 4-Wire) Electronic Static Energy Meters suitable for Class 0.2S and Class 0.5S Accuracies for 4-Quadrant Operations and also fulfilling the requirements & specifications for Availability Based Tariff (ABT) Metering.

The Applicable International Specifications are: IEC 62052-11, IEC 62053-22 and IEC 62056-21, and the Indian Government Standards: ISS / BSS: 14697 / 1999 Reaffirmed 2004.

Please inform me as soon as possible if you can offer us suitable Reference Design(s) for the above as we will be seriously considering your chips and chip-sets, if your response is positive.

We do have good design, manufacturing, testing and calibration setups, apart from the necessary Sales & Marketing Teams and Infrastructures & Strengths!!!

We already have Three-Phase, Four-Wire High-Stability, High-Accuracy of 0.02 Class Precision Power Sources, C300 and C300B Units from M/s. CALMET, Poland.

We are already manufacturing Automatic Power Factor Controllers, Capacitor-Duty Thyristor Switches and now Active Harmonic Filtering Panels using IGBTs and DSP MCUs etc.

Your complete technical support will be extremely valuable to us.

Please do reply to this message in good technical and commercial details, as soon as you can.

Thanks & with best wishes, - Jaykrushna P. Puranik.

  • Dear Carlo Cabaccan,

Thanks a lot for your prompt response to my request.

We at TAS are extremely keen to peruse the subject.

I am aware that Texas Instruments, USA and their Indian counterparts have put a lot of efforts in doing Reference Designs for Three-Phase Energy Meters meeting International Standards as well as the corresponding Indian Standards.

     T. I. has all the resources in terms of Signal Processing Blocks, the MCUs, the Interfaces and even the Expertise to put all such things together in a meaningful manner.

Please be sure that once the prototypes are tested by TAS, there will be significant annual business for this product line.

We are already using your DSP MCUs in our IGBTs based Active Harmonic Filtering Panels.

However, for cost-competitiveness, an ASIC Like Solution or even a Custom MCU which is Factory-Programmed for the Analog Frond-End, can do the job for us effectively.

We at TAS are comfortable using any of the MCUs from 8-Bit to 32-Bit, including the ARM Cortex-Mx line MCUs.

We have applied in the past, Analog Devices Inc., USA’s Energy Meter ICs having SPI-Bus Interface with our Main MCU, for some of our important projects in the past.

     T. I. being at No. 1 Position in Semiconductor Products, I have high hopes on your full technical support.

Kindly revert as soon as possible and as completely as possible in terms of the technical and commercial aspects with whatever technical inputs which the T. I. Experts can share with me now.

I need to talk to our Managing Director, Mr. Tushar Mogre Sir, on this subject, tomorrow, Friday, 6th Sept. 2019, Indian Local Time, Morning.

Sincerely awaiting your most valuable feedbacks & updates during your working day today, which I will be able to read tomorrow morning.

     With highest regards & respect,

     - Jaykrushna P. Puranik.
