AM62P5-Q1: Wants to know main difference about timer, eCAP, and ePWM

Hello support team.

My customer is considering to adopt AM62P.

They checked the peripherals of AM62P.

Orignally, the timer module is used to measure the pulse interval of the input signal and output pulses at a constant period.

AM62P has eCAP for input, and eCAP and ePWM for output.

Custome is trying to check TRM but they could not understand.

Could you please tell the main differences between Timer, eCAP, and ePWM?

Or if there is a good sentences in documents, please indicate it.

This is a great question and it is difficult to provide a short answer.

I am not sure about the processor, but we may have workshops for C2000 or the MCUs that may be providing the explaination.

Can you please try looking for workshops or any presentation on training.ti.com.

I will check internally and update if get some additional pointers or inputs.

I assume customer has had a chance to look at the below sections in the chapter. Can you request customer to provide some additional inputs on question they have.

I confirmed what point they want to know.

These peripherals have the same functionality.

For example, PWM output(TImer and ePWM) and input signal plus interval measurement(eCAP and ePWM)

Customer wants to know the differneces (characteristics) between these peripherals.

Additionally you could suggest customer to look for some TI training videos that could provide additional information. They could reference to C2000 videos as a starting point.
