TDA4VM: 2 Displays output

Hi,

I'm starting a design for TDA4VM and would like to know what are the best options to get to display outputs from this SoC in terms of HW.

One of them will be using the DP port.

What interface could be used for the other one, considering we would like to use any standard monitor. If there is some sort of HDMI option using an extra chips like DPI to HDMI or DSI to HDMI that would work.

Not sure if an MST hub could be used.

Hi David,

Yes, definitely, if there is extra chip available to convert DPI to HDMI, that would work.

You could even use CSITX or DSI output to get the second display.

My question was more about if you could recommend any option for this.

I dont know of any solutions, but if you know of any chip or any reference design, that would be really helpful.

Hi David,

On EVM, there are two possible outputs, eDP and DSI, then additionally using infotainment card, we can get HDMI output. This HDMI output is coming from TFP410 chip, which converts DPI to HDMI.

Thanks, I hadnt checked the infotainment board but looks like that HDMI solution is what I need.
