AM6442: questions about schematic checklist (spracu5.pdf)

Part Number: AM6442

Team,

I have some questions regarding the schematic checklist:

  1. Chapter 2.14 ICSSG:
Have you selected the correct pins for your industrial application?
... In particular, review the differences between the RGMII connections and the MII connections for the TX pins.

==> There are not differences for RGMII und MII, the same pins are used. This comment is confusing. Is this maybe a copy&paste comment from the AM65x checklist?

  2. Chapter 2.12 I2C:
Do you need a fully compliant I2C buffer?
    The WKUP_I2C0 and MCU_I2C0 use true open-drain...

    ==> I can't find any WKUP_I2C0 on AM64x. Again, maybe copy&paste from AM65x?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Robert,

Thanks for the feedback. This AM64 schematic checklist doc was based off AM65x.

    1. In SysConfigTool, there are subtle differences between PRU_ICSSGn_MII_G_RT verses PRU_ICSSG0_RGMII modes. Please take a look.
Perhaps we will point the reader to the SysConfigTool. https://dev.ti.com/sysconfig/

    2. I agree, there is no WKUP_I2C0. There are only I2C0 and MCU_I2C0. The point we want to make is that only I2C0 is a true open drain buffer, compliant with the I2C spec. Both I2C0 and MCU_I2C0 have open drain buffers.

    I'll file bugs for these.

    Regards,
    Mark
