A question about the ndk

Dear sir,

I am sorry to bother you but there is a problem that has been confusing me for a long time, and I need some help!

My dsp is dm6437, and the ndk version is ndk_1_92_00_22, I use the example "helloworld" as the framework to create my own project, it works; but when I test it for a long time , I found that it can only run for about one day, then the system crashes! Then I find the ndk has two kind of versions: the evaluation version and the production version. And it says that the evaluation version of TCP/IP Stack restricts uasge of stack to maximum of 24 hours! Is the version I'm using now the evaluation one? How can I get the production version? Do I need to rewrite all my code if I use another version of ndk?

It certainly sounds like you have an evaluation version if the release notes for the evaluation version indicate it stops working after 24 hours and that is what you are observing.

There is likely a solution for you however. Check out the following wiki article on our processor.wiki.ti.com site. You should be able to get an updated version and begin working with it.

Yes, it certainly sounds like you are using the evaluation version. I believe that you can get around this problem by moving forward to a later version of the NDK. It would also be a good idea to do this because the version you are using - 1.92x - is very old and there have been a lot of bug fixes since then.

You should *not* need to rewrite your code if you upgrade. The only issue that I see with you upgrading would be that some driver libraries or core stack libraries may be located in different places. So if your existing project is pointing to some library locations, they may have been moved and so the project wouldn't find them.

You can upgrade to the latest NDK from this website:

Please note that the above NDK only contains the core libraries. There are no DM6437 driver libraries or examples.

You will probably be OK using the drivers and examples that you have already from NDK 1.92.x, but if you wish to get use the latest drivers and examples then you would need to grab those from NDK 2.00. You can find that here:

I have downloaded the ndk_2_0_0 from the site you provide. I replace the old libraries with the new ones in the "lib" file of the ndk_2_0_0 and the system is now testing again, I will let you know the result maybe days later!

I also upgraded my system with ndk_2_20_03_24, but it doesn't work ~~The version of my bios is bios_5_31_07. If I want to use the ndk_2_20_03_24, should I upgrade my bios first? The release note of the ndk_2_0_0 says that the bios should be DSP/BIOS 5.33.01 or higher, but why can I use it with bios_5_31_07? And the release note of the ndk_2_20_03_24 indicates that the bios must be 5.4x, so I fail to work with it!!!! How can this happen?

By the way, is the ndk_2_0_0 good enough for a Production? Must I use the latest version? And what about the bios_5_31_07?

My suggestion is to make sure that you are using the appropriate, stated versions (or higher) of the dependent software. Otherwise, you may end up chasing down issues later on.
