AM6442: 25MHZ clock characterization of AM64 GM EVM board

Part Number: AM6442

Dear Champs,

My customer would like to know the 25MHZ clock (Soc_CLKIN) characterization of AM64 GM EVM board , including jitter, clock in/out phase delay, etc. This signal is used for Ethernet PHY on the GP EVM board , customer would like to know its characterization info to evaluate its performance. Did BU do the characterization test before and could share the info?

             Thanks a lot!

  • Hello Jane,

While there is a plan in place to characterize AM64xx CLKOUT, it has not been performed yet so no data is available.

  • Hi DK,

Soc_CLKIN is connected with MCU_OSC0_XI, looks like used for MCU input clock?  What's the input clock requirement of MCU system?

                         Jane

  • Jane

MCU_OSC0_XI is the primary clock for the entire SoC. There is no separate clock for the MCU Subsystem. You can either use a crystal to clock the device (MCU_OSC0_XI/XO) and use the CLKOUT to clock the Ethernet PHY's, if configured for 25MHz or use an external clock source to feed the 25MHz reference clock to both the SoC and Ethernet PHY.

All the input clock requirements are captured in the datasheet.

    Regards, Siva
