TDA4VM: TDA4 reset

Hello,

    When the PMICs are turned off (ENABLE pin goes low and VCCA is removed) .  The PMIC will set PORz and MCU_PORz low during the power down sequence before turning of the regulators.  Please refer to the power down sequence here.

    By writing to the I2C_0 trigger, the PMIC will go to the standby state and turn off all regulators.  This is described in the State Transition Triggers.

    I cannot comment on the reliability and will ask someone from the Jacinto community to comment.

Yes - MCU_PORz can be used to restart the TDA4VM device.  Ensure the minimum MCU_PORz pulse width is applied (See Reset Timing section in Data Manual)

We use MCU_RESETz to warm reset when performing OTA upgrade. Because there will be millions of vehicles,  If there is a warm reset failure among them, it will cause us great losses. we need to ensure that warm reset is absolutely reliable in SOC design. Could you confirm it for us?

In other words: If i use MCU_RESETz to reset tda4, could you make sure tda4 can reset successfully every time for tens of thousands of times ?

MCU_RESETz is considered a 'warm reset' and does NOT reset the entire device.  See TRM Section 5.3.6.3 MCU_RESETz sequence for list of items not affected with warm reset.

Is there a strict test for the stability of warm reset?

Yes, Warm reset is a tested and validated function on the device.
